My Moda salesman was here on Friday, tempting me with samples of all the fabric lines that were introduced a few days before at Quilt Market in Houston. I'm attempting to maintain a style of fresh, modern, designer fabrics to use in my quilts and sell in my etsy shop, so it was easy to say no to the traditional prints, reproductions, and soft, florals. Then came the hard part. There are SO many really great modern fabrics by really good designers.
Then, Michael Miller Fabrics called me yesterday afternoon to show me (via the web) all of their new fabrics from Market. Then I thought about all the Kona Cotton colors I need to reorder as my stock is getting low, and the colors I would like to add to my stock.
Not to mention Kaffe Fasset and Amy Butler...
Overwhelming? It wouldn't be if I could just buy it all, because it's all so pretty!
Being on a budget, like most people, I need to be selective and limit what I buy. (Until I win the lottery, lol.) It's still risky, though. What if I buy fabric and no one else likes it? Oh! The pressure! Haha.
Yes, I ordered some Moda lines. Won't see those for months, though. Needing something fresh for the shop now, and I've narrowed my options to two:
1. Restock the Kona Cottons that have been selling well and add 10 more colors. (Very tempting.)
or
2. Go out on a limb and order these Michael Miller fabrics, which I adore:
Which fabric would you most desire?

1. From a business standpoint, I would go with the Kona solids. Seems I am always having to shop for good solids
5. What fabric do I use most? LOL, right now what ever is in my stash as money is tight, but I have found I am really enjoying some of the trendy florals and whimsical fabrics(like your Michael Miller, Amy Butler, some of the Moda lines). I have even picked up a few here and there.
10. I have posted about your giveaway on my blog....here is the shortlink - http://wp.me/prxfA-mi

1 entry - I vote for the Kona solids.
5 entries - I love Moda fabrics but I'm just starting to collect reproductions.
Alas I don't have a blog, but I'm starting to think I need one!
It would be exciting to win a jelly roll. It would be my first! Thanks for the great giveaway. Cheers, Christine M

I would stay away from the directional prints - those are harder to use, the MM floral is a winner, tho. I'd get that and some of the Kona solids to go with it for a store display.
I love Kona solids - I like to 'alter' them with stamping, embroidery, etc. and they set off prints SO well - my "never be withouts": red, black, turquoise, yellow, white.
The NEW Kona solids are avail. in a roll - all 42 in one roll - and those are really yummy new colors that blend really well with Amy Butlers, Sandy Gervais, etc. so if you can't stock bolts, try getting some of those rolls.
No, I don't work for Robert Kaufman, but I would if I could!
Thanks for the giveaway - every little bit helps!

I LOVE the Expresso Flower Shower! So, so fun! I'd definitely go with the Michael Miller. I use mostly Amy Butler prints, though lately have been finding many Anna Marie Horner fabrics that I've been loving. I'm a beginner quilter, so everything seems to beautiful right now :)

Hello Sue,
I love the Michael Miller prints but that is because I love prints over solids.
I also love the Kaffe Fassett fabrics and I have many Michael Miller and Henry Glass fabrics in my stash.
I have put a link to your blog from my blog ( quiltmomsjourney.blogspot.com
What a fun giveaway. You are going to make some quilter one happy person.

I would go with the Kona fabrics.
I have been using a lot of Moda lately though I do enjoy other companies as well.

I would get the Michael Miller fabrics, they are gorgeous.
I don't use any one style of fabric the most, it depends on what I'm making and who it is for. I have a couple of gorgeous modern projects in the works right now. And recently just finished a large quilt with traditional country like fabrics. I love scrappy too.

I'd prefer the Kona fabrics. Michael Miller has great fabrics just not a fan of animals on my fabric.
I prefer modern prints, but still use my Amish fabrics alot too!

I love the Micheal Miller prints. Especially the Little Owls. Cute!
I like tiny prints & solids best, I'm not stuck on anyone line. Whatever strikes my fancy at the time.

1 - I agree with SewLindaAnn, I love a few of the Michael Miller fabrics fabrics and think they would go great with some Kona solids!
5 - I like vintage fabrics! Reproductions are great too! Mostly earthy natural colors, but sometimes bright ones like that very first MM fabric up there catch my eye!

I work in a quilt shop which doesn't carry Moda, my favorite fabric line. I adore Moda and would love to win the lovely jelly roll.
For your shop I'd go for the Michael Miller prints. I realize the Kona solids are good sellers, but they can be purchased at a lot of places. The Michael Miller designs are a bit trendy and might bring in some new quilters looking for fun designs.
I'm going to my blog now to post about your contest and link back to you. Thanks so much for the opportunity. I am going to become a follower now as well.

1. This is hard, but I would say the Kona solids - they're just so fantastic!
5. Hmmm, this is hard! I love Moda precuts, so I use those a lot (very rarely buy yardage though), but when it comes to yardage I tend to focus on Tula Pink, Heather Bailey, Amy Butler, and Denyse Schmidt.

1 entry -- I'd get the Michael Miller prints
5 entries -- I work the most with batiks and brights that work with those batiks

Wow, what a great giveaway!
I'd personally go with the cool print fabrics and take a chance! What fun tote bags, curtains, kids clothing, quilts they would make!
We really don't have any good fabric shops in the are so I use what I order online, mostly fat quarters which are a mix of all the big names, but I do love the Moda fabrics and could get into some serious trouble if it were readily available.
Will have a post about this giveaway up and running in about a minute!
Thanks for all the chances at this yummy jelly roll!

The Michael Miller fabrics are fabulous. How can you resist a great fabric design, even though I do like to use the Kona cottons.
I'm a fan of Free Spirit, Robert Kaufman and Michael Miller fabrics in bright prints.
